Eating a Watermelon: Preparation
In preparing to eat a watermelon, first cut the watermelon in half. Cover one half and store in the refrigerator.
Eating a Watermelon:
Take the second half and cut a crosshatch pattern in it. Now put a fork in it and sit it on a plate. You eat the watermelon by using a fork to pop out the small sections created by the crosshatch pattern. Pop these in your mouth and enjoy over the course of an hour or two. Remember, once you finish eating it, it is best to wait at least 20 minutes before eating something else.
Eating a Watermelon: Crosshatch Pattern Instructions
Cut at least 5-10 lines all going in the same direction. These lines should go all the way across the watermelon and be side by side. Make sure that your knife goes all the way to the rind as you are cutting the crosshatch pattern. Now, turn the watermelon so that you can cut perpendicular lines (like a plus sign) all the way across the watermelon. Again, make sure that your knife goes all the way to the rind as you are cutting the crosshatch pattern.
