Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is the loss of kidney function over a period of months or years. The loss of function in chronic kidney disease can be due to a wide range of issues.
What Causes Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)?
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is most often caused by high blood pressure and diabetes. But there are many other causes for chronic kidney disease, including:
- Autoimmune disorders (such as systemic lupus erythematosus and scleroderma)
- Birth defects of the kidneys (such as polycystic kidney disease)
- Certain toxic chemicals
- Glomerulonephritis
- Injury or trauma
- Kidney stones and infection
- Problems with the arteries leading to or inside the kidneys
- Some pain medications and other drugs (such as cancer drugs)
- Reflux nephropathy (in which the kidneys are damaged by the backward flow of urine into the kidneys)
- Other kidney diseases
Monitoring Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) with Creatinine
Monitoring chronic kidney disease with creatinine is good because creatinine is a waste product that will build up in your blood as your kidneys lose the ability to function. It is easy for physicians to have your blood drawn and the creatinine level measured. Then the rate at which your kidneys filter creatinine (called the glomerular filtration rate or GFR) can be determined. Once your GFR is determined, it is used to determine the stage (progression) of your disease.
Healing
Be sure to consider your options for actually healing your kidneys. Though we do not diagnose or treat diseases, when we do the primary wellness consultation, we will check to see if the total body detoxification process appears to be allowing the kidneys to cleanse themselves. When this is the case, we are happy to recommend the proper nutrients and several total body cleanses to see how wonderfully the kidneys can heal themselves and function better.
To date, nearly all of the clients we have assisted in this area have had their kidneys heal themselves beautifully. Their physicians have told many of them they no longer need dialysis and that their kidneys no longer need to be transplanted.
mention dialysis anymore!”
When we get calls from individuals whose doctors have told them that they have various stages of kidney disease asking if we can offer any assistance, we say:
ABSOLUTELY!
Give it a try!
Come see what we can help your body heal!
