Education:
Traditional Healthcare
The education process for traditional physicians has little to no emphasis on cures, prevention or nutrition. Many hours are spent memorizing chemical drugs, disease names and anatomy parts. Disease names are important since the goal is to identify the name. Then, the goal becomes managing the symptoms associated with that named disease.
Alternative or Natural Healthcare
Education emphasizes healing and prevention of disease with nutrients and processes that work in harmony with how the body functions. Disease names are not a factor as the goal is to trace the symptoms back to their root cause so the cause can be eliminated. Unfortunately, in many areas of alternative health, education is not a requirement. This makes it imperative to determine if your practitioner has been educated or, at least, has the knowledge and ability to assist you in the manner you desire. If you do not get results fairly quickly, you may want to consider an alternative practitioner that is more qualified.
Specialties:
Traditional Healthcare
Divided up into many categories of specialists that only deal with a certain part of the anatomy. Minimal consideration is given to the fact that one area seriously affects another area of the body.
Alternative or Natural Healthcare
No specialization of anatomical parts. Treats the entire body and understands that it is completely inter-related and co-dependent on all body systems and functions.
